刘东海，博士，教授，博士生导师，创新创业学院副院长，湖南省运筹学会常务理事，中国工程院《Frontiers of Engineering Management》通讯专家。目前主要从事金融风险理论与智能决策研究，博士毕业于中南大学概率论与数理统计专业，中南大学管理科学博士后，合作导师陈晓红院士。美国University of Iowa统计精算系和加拿大University of Waterloo统计精算系访问学者。曾获湖南省首届普通高校青年教师教学能手、湖南科技大学优秀青年教师、湖南科技大学青年魅力教师、湖南省微课比赛一等奖。指导学生参加全国大学生数学建模竞赛多次获国家一等奖。指导数学建模科技创新团队获“小平科技创新团队”，并被湖南日报新湖南客户端等媒体详细报道，获得湖南省副省长吴桂英的高度赞扬。

在科研方面，主持完成国家、省部级科研项目10余项。在《International Journal of Intelligent Systems》、《Computers & Industrial Engineering 》、《International Journal of Fuzzy System》、《Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems》 、《Statistics and Probability letters》、《Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics》、《Complexity》、《应用数学学报》、《中国管理科学》等国内外期刊发表论文三十余篇，多篇被SCI检索收录。目前担任国内外期刊《IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics: Systems》、《IEEE Access》、《Computers & Industrial Engineering 》、《International Journal of Fuzzy System》、《Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems》、《Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computing》、《Economic Modelling》、《高校应用数学学报》等期刊的审稿人。
